I purchased four pairs of shoes on August 4th. I wore two pairs, different styles.

They caused my feet and legs to swell and caused excruciating pain in my left foot. Since both shoes were an ill fit, I decided that I would return all the shoes I purchased because I concluded that I could not wear this brand because of the lack of quality and the ill fit. I was told that I could not return the shoes that were worn and that I would be issued a store credit. I explained that a store credit would not work because I can not wear the shoes and because I felt that the shoes were poorly made.

I was ready to take the lost on the two pair until the sales person said that they would refund only $23 because the sale was buy on get on half off. I had two separate purchases (I had to order two of the four pairs from a different location, thus the separate purchases) each receipt contain one pair that was being returned unworn. Both pair cost $89. The shoes that were worn cost $45.

Yet I was being offered $23. ?????? What kind of math is that! I left all four pairs in the store without getting my money back and I did not accept a store credit.

I have contacted a lawyer and I ma filing a claim against Steve Madden.

Any place that will not refund a customer for purchases that they can not use, does not stand by their product. WARNING do not buy these shoes!
